Fare Thee Well, Shamus

Last night cousin Barb came and picked up Shamus to take him to his new home. So far no one has taken over the job of rushing out the back door when I let the dogs in or out. It is 1/4 quieter and fewer toes are being bitten and swatted. I now only have to count to 3 when accounting for kittens. We will miss the little fella.

But he is going to a good home and will be well-loved and spoiled. Barb's neighbor's little girl will be there often to play with him and he will have his own crate and a new scratching/climbing pole (as soon as Barb assembles it). And two very adult cats to keep him in line.

So, fare thee well, my little one.

Hi Martha - I have a two-fold purpose here to comment. First, that is such an endearing photo of Barb and Shamus. But I got a lump in my throat knowing how you and Shamus' siblings will miss him. I know he's going to a new and loving home, but something still touches the heart when our "little ones" move on. ;o)

The other purpose for commenting is that I received an email from Linda May through your blog -- here is what she said: G'Day Mary,
I am visiting via Martha's blog. I have seen your name there in the comments page quite a bit. I was hoping you could help me with a problem I am having. I haven't been able to contact Martha through her blog for a while now because the comment form isn't working. It has not had a word verification password coming up and will not accept any comments from me.I don't know if that is a problem from my computer or hers. Anyway, can you please just let her know I have not forgotten her. She has been visiting my blog and I can't contact her.

I don't know if there is anything you can do for Linda May. I know that I am still receiving the word verification in order to communicate with you, but poor Linda May is not. I have a feeling the problem is on her end. Anyway, she did want you to know that she is thinking of you.

Awww! Bye, Shamus! Now, you need to learn how to meow REAL FAST! Aunt Barb has one-speed-speach - FAST! Learn quickly, dear kitty!

Thanks, Mary, for your comments and for passing on Linda May's problem. I hope it gets straightened out soon but am not sure what is going on.

The 3 remaining kittens do not seem to miss Shamus but Smoke has been poking around in unusual places so I think he is looking for him. We will all adjust ...

Linda May .... keep trying.

Jen, you are so right but Shamus is a quick study.

G'Day Martha, Thank you for the message and thank you to Mary C as well. Tonight the word verification thing is working when I checked, so here goes. I hope you get this . I don't know what was wrong but I think I'm back.
